Scotland Independence Ref 2
Good news for the Scottish independence movement. The Conservatives have confirmed an SNP (Scottish National Party) victory on May 6th will guarantee a referendum, and a path for Scotland to free itself of English Tory rule and back into the European Union.

I'd imagine its delays due to the "postal votes", the SNP are still printing them

Understand it was only the 3rd by-election win by a sitting government in 40 years.

That may be true in terms of the sitting government, winning a seat from the opposition, but plenty of sitting governments have retained (won) by election seats.

For example in 2005 - 2010, Labour held 8 seats they already had in by elections.

Why do we have to wait until Saturday for the Scottish election results?

Is it just down to the Scottish work ethic?

You’re all fascists, we hate you and we’re also going to fill your country with people who hate you too but please vote for us.

I’m perhaps a tad old fashioned but that doesn’t strike me as a vote winning formula.

I’m not absolving the blue faction as it also seems to be their ploy but they at least don’t call us racists whilst they’re doing it.

This bird on Sky is excellent. I haven't seen her before. Far better than the Covid-spreading trollop.

Did they shadow win this one, despite losing it comprehensively as usual?

Sly News and the Biased Broadcasting Company must be grieving, think I'll turn it on for a bit of a gloat.

Hartlepool voted the way it did because Boris threatened to obliberate France thus making all the jigonistic knuckle draggers come in their pants.

Well thats what Ray will say rather than admit the fact that his beloved Labour party are a complete shambles and deserve everything they get. This is what happens when you turn your back on your core traditional voters.

Labour made the choice of becoming the party that represents aggreived minorities instead of their traditional white working class base, so this hasn't come out of the blue.

What is strange is how there is no admission that this is/has happened, and they keep doing the same thing expecting different results.

Ray 'Akala' Winstone will no doubt be along in a minute, grizzling about Tory sleaze!

Yes, would have won on a Brexit landslide in 2019 if the vote hadnt been split.
Labour havent done anything to show they werent still taking them for granted after 57 years of the seat.
And its also been made clear that if you dont have a Tory MP in the North you arent getting any government investment.
I expect the announcement of the Hartlepool Opera House any day now

Re: Scotland Independence Ref 2
Hartlepool is probably no worse a performance by Labour than in 2019.

Brexit Party members just transferred en masse to the Tories.

It's still u fucking horrible performance, though.

Labour candidate polls 8,000 vs the Conservative 15,000

Disaster for Sir Keir

'Not like Brexit, where everyone knew what staying in meant, but no one really knew what leaving meant and that had to be worked out once the Uk decided to leave.

Surely 'knowing what staying in meant' was the reason people voted out? It certainly was for me.

No they didn’t.

I agree with Mex mart in that it’s best to explain the precise details of how both England and Scotland would deal with splitting the Union.

For example did the NI electorate know that there would be a trading border in the Irish Sea after Brexiter?

Would be great if Boris called his pal Donald to build a huge fuck off wall along the border to keep the sweeties out.
